In 2019, we were able to help 10% of eligible Lancaster County residents. With more volunteers, we can make an even bigger impact.

How to Become A Volunteer

Step 1

Fill out the form below to attend an info session, or contact Jesse Brubacher to learn more.

Step 2

Attend an info session for all the details you need in order to decide whether VITA is a good volunteer fit for you.

Step 3

Complete tax training to learn the relevant tax laws and how to actually prepare a return on the computer.

November – December: Tax law training sessions
January: Software training sessions

Step 4

Pick a site to volunteer at and volunteer at least a 4-hour shift per week from January 21 – April 15.

Step 5

Make immediate impact in people’s lives every tax return you do.

Step 6

Take a summer break!
